S60R is turbo AWD Volvo making 300hp? I never paid attention. No salty roads down here to corrode body panels, either. It still doesn't meet Brain's requirements but at least I'm looking.

Of course they do!

Although the AWD is more like the R32 where it's pretty much a FWD until it decides to split the power. (same with the volvo s40r, s60r, and v70r)

And again, they are incredibly great values. I could pick a low mileage (~60K) one up today for 15-18K. really nice interior too.

Like I said, there are days I just want one of them to at least know im in a capable comfy sedan...but I dunno, not a huge fan of full sized sedans. 99.9% of the time my rear seat is unused. I think I'd rather a Legacy GT is I was to get a sedan.

The interior of the S60R is legit, although the dash and wheel isn't anything special...the seats are boss and comfy, and the car is well built and I think it looks baus as hell. There's something about the large sedan when done right that just does it for me...like an e39 M5.

My problem again, with all of the above is that the price as compared to the MS3 doesnt make sense. I'd rather a 2011-12 model of a MS3 for the same price as a well-used MS6 or S60R. Both are definitely on my list...Just further down. I'm still not convinced I want/need a hatch per say, but I think I'd like it and utilize it for sure.

Don't think I'm saying that based on the common opinion that gets passed around by people who have never worked on them.

I have worked on them, and to be honest, the MK4 is a horrid automobile. I cannot even tell you how many times I have had to go pick people up when their MK4's decided to just literally stop working.

Whether it's a break in one of the 13 coolant lines or plastic coolant tees, the fans deciding to not come on, shattered water pump impellers, coils dying, rear struts exploding, headliners falling onto your head while driving (not making that up), using garbage bags to cover the sunroof because the motor decided to open the window in the middle of the night and not close, LOL'ng because every single plastic ****, switch, panel or trim piece just explodes after short or no use, multiple window regulators dying (some under 2k miles)....I can go one, but that should make my opinion understandable. Oh and heaven forbid you lose a key or want to change the flywheel!

The worst part of it all is the attitude that some of these people have. "You have to pay for luxury!" What luxury?

Watching my friends live out nightmares with their MK4's has thoroughly strengthened my love for my miata. My car has over 200k miles (110k of those boosted) and is 23 years old, and the quality just speaks for itself when compared to a MK4 that is hardly 10 years old.

I've never owned a VW, but at my last command out of 9 people, 3 had VW's and all 3 had their transmissions fail. No BS.

I would choose the ms3 over the ms6 or the Volvo, too.

Subarus, particularly WRXs are not known for having the most durable transmission either.

My old college roommate had a VW Jetta, he said that water pump issue was common due to plastic blades.

I saw a base model Impreza the other day and I thought it was a freaking GM.

What else is out there that I'm missing? I think if my wife wasn't always going to own a 2-dr coupe herself, I'd even consider the 5.0L mustang.
