Tallgeese builds a miata

Thanks for the props. But you would be amazed at how little I spend on my car. Over the years I've learned the art of wheelin' and dealin' from the guys on MT. It's amazing how much money you can save buying used parts and doing trades.
turbo manifold/downpipe + door speakers - 300 dollars from a member's shed.
FM silicone piping - free in trade
2554r ball bearing turbo - trade. Sold for 500 dollars
2870 - 100 dollars
RC injectors - trade for old supercharger parts
etc....

Should be amazing once you finish up on the Miata. There are alot of great builds in progress over here. Keep up that good work.

Yeah a little dealing goes a long way. I hope to get a supercharger in a year or two. Pretty much broke at this point and want a hardtop before next winter.

When I bought my car from my dad it had a supercharger on it. It was a love/hate relationship. But now they have a ton of upgrades for them.
I'm hoping it's amazing when this kit is done, well, I hope it just keeps me satisfied for awhile I love changing things, but I plan on using the 2870 for the rest of the year and now I'll finally have the cooling upgrades done so I can have a reliable daily again. Plus I'll be spending a few months at basic training this year anyway, haha. No more blasting around the autocross and then shutting it off after each run lol
Speaking of awesome deals. This is my next turbo project, not touching it until next year, though!
The holset and that BRAND NEW FM2 manifold in the background come at 230 bucks combined. The plan is to build a 400whp turbo kit for under 1000 bucks. Wheelin' and dealin' baby

I think a little 1.8 Miata would have a hard time spooling that big tubo up wouldn't it? Not that I'm an expert.
Either way it would be fun to see you attempt building such a beast. If I lived you know, even in the same country I'd have to drive down to see your progress... oh well.

Well, my last box of parts came in today! Begi reroute parts, all I need now is to get the GM hose tomorrow and a new valve cover gasket. Which I will be picking up both tomorrow before work
Unfortunately, the intercooler I was shipped was not the correct one. So it's being sent back tomorrow and the new one will be here hopefully by the middle of next week. (thanks again to Track for some words of wisdom)
Also, doing some paint work on my valve cover and front cam cover. I've had red for a while, but now I feel that all black would look much better. Gotta keep it clean.
Also, also, my new road tuning laptop came in! Snagged a Dell Mini with a ton of accessories for 200 shipped.
and of course I got the pretty blue one in true miata fashion
Well, thought I'd share some of the deals I've gotten recently. Scored this Mishimoto 53(?)mm race radiator for 75 bucks locally and also talked the guy into selling his R-Package spoiler for an additional 75 bucks The trick is going to be fitting the stock shroud and clearing the cold side intercooler piping...hmm..I'm sure I'll come up with something, until I break down and buy/build a shroud with slim fans
Anyway, got the car torn down to were it needs to be for reroute install, radiator install, turbo re-install and intercooler re-install.
Also, I'm going to be doing some cleaning up around the bulkhead. The FPR is getting moved and the vacuum block is getting remounted where I had it before.
I installed the big bore fuel rail that I scored off MT. Fitment was perfect, however, I have no freakin' clue what the guy was thinking when he went about routing the lines and choosing the fittings. He used 180 degree fittings at the end! The lines have to loop inside the manifold runners and around each other!
I made it work by flipping the injectors 180 degrees, but that won't cut it. I ordered new, 90 degree fittings from BatInc, as well as some fire sleeve
Pics of what I'm talking about:
Maybe it worked well with a stock intake manifold, but this is just stupid. The lines will surely eat through my runners and I can't stand having the injector harness going all over the place.
