I have put steel braided lines inside a larger rubber hose that I split up the side just to keep the braiding from eating things up. I really don't like steel braided hose much because of its unfriendliness around other things.

you can get teflon hose, or teflon wrapped steel braided hose. I think its actually cheaper and usually preferred for oil/engine stuff since its not as vulnerable to chaffing.

Car work is on hold for a few days. A good friend of mine from high school killed himself yesterday.
