Default Getting frustrated, it's as easy as 1,2,3!

Did this this morning, very easy and quick! Wow! You can thank me later

Step 1: Begin re-aligning the trunk lid on your miata. Be sure to have a micrometre or some other measuring device at hand.

Step 2: After loosening the bolts, adjust the lid's position accordingly, then tighten in place. Measure the gaps around the lid and then shut it properly (with the latch fitted).

Step 3: Check clearances. It is important to note that at this stage the lid is most likely going to be way off! Check that your 2 dosh micrometre/measuring tool hasn't moved off it's original measurement. Repeat steps 2-3 for a long time and/or give your miata an interesting new name....

I can do the above without a micrometer. I don't even need a car to get the same results.

Why are you re-alining your trunk lid?

Fitting a custom luggage rack to my car and using the gap between the lid and qaurter panel to run a steel plate through; the gaps weren't even so I aligned them. Plate fits where I need it to and my school project can now progress

Sounds neat. Just like your class assignments - show your work. ;-)

Seriously, the readers like photos of different projects. Especially on uncommon projects.

I had to screw around with mine when I changed trunk lids. It took a few minutes to get it right.
